This post made me sad...but I agree with it ultimately.

I hate to say this...I really do. But the older I get...hip hop just doesn't interest me as much as it used to. I know @IronFist @Xenos @JamieFoxxHairline and @MichaelStrathanGap have been holding it down with the underground hip hop threads and they should be commended. But the state of mainstream hip hop is literally the WORST it has ever been! Like to me it's inlistenable.

And now the booth is overshadowed by yes...like many have said...chatty patty garbage. TLR is all chatty patty garbage...I'm mainly there but I'm here cause that part of me that grew up with hip hop and loved it since then is still with me. But as the years go by and the music goes one way I go another and get older and into other music. House and techno has just consumed my life now to the point I forget about hiphop.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't struggling to get myself to listen to the new stuff just to stay abreast of the trends it doesn't hold my attention as much as it used to.

At least there's the classics but I wish there were new classics...hip hop just isn't for old

If you decide to let other music take you away from hiphop, dont let it be techno:mjcry:

Were u sumbody who strictly listened to one kind of rap music,or was tour taste pretty diverse?

Im thankful i grew up on lyrical and non lyrical rap to where I'm not soley focused on skill...i feel bad for cats who only can appreciate lyrical shyt, and cats who can only appreciate non lyrical.

Its hard to believe we reached the peak in the 90's,i dont wanna believe that,it really just takes that one rapper to bogard the game and change the entire formula up:banderas:

Can the younger generation just be blamed?our favorite old rappers have made millions off rap and havent done shyt to become better all around musicians:mjlol:....nikkas is still sampling shyt:laff:

How long hiphop been in existence?how much time have you had to become a better musician?allow people in your crew to learn music and maybe grow into a genius?

you should be able to go into a studio and create instrumentals from scratch that rival beats you still sampling in 2015....i cant be convinced you have less access than cats during the damn civil rights era to be great musically.

oh its cheaper with Fruity Loops?Well i cant argue with that, but when the older generation of rappers dont really take it any more seriously musically....cats who been in it 20 years and made millions, how can we get made at younger generations for lack of progression:francis:

The booth is not a real reflection of the state of Hip Hop.

The board has been more about arguing, trolling, and making ridiculous statements for attention than it is to strictly discuss music :yeshrug:
I disagree to an extent, if it was '95 the majority of the discussions would be about quality music.

No they wouldn't. You know why? Because on the Internet it's much more than words and eventually, you can only talk about the 'quality' of the same albums for so long.

The fact that the Internet lets you post photos and videos in the middle of the conversation changes it. This isn't a record shop. As much as I would like to hear more about music here that's not how it works. It would be boring to rehash the 'quality' of albums all day with no news, stories, random photos, etc etc.

I personally don't mind the jokes and trolling when they are funny. There is just A LOT of posters who are not funny here.
