NOPE. What you're doing is mis-characterizing switching for traditional drop coverage. Look at the highlights again. Porzingis would screen Tatum or Brown's man (OG or Bridges), they would switch onto Porzingis, Tatum or Brown would dart into open space, made OG or Bridges go after them, which left Porzingis open, taking advantage of KAT or Robinson's slow foot speed to recover
You keep mis-characterizing stuff, just like you mistakenly think the Celtics offense is just "Tatum and Brown ISOing bad defenders"

And at the bolded. Thank you for stating the obvious Magic Johnson :dead: . Obviously Luke Kornet is not a shooter. My point was to say Luke Kornet as a 3rd string center had a bigger impact barely scoring than Porzingis and Horford combined, showed how terrible both were for the series
Ah, nevermind. Let me clarify the difference between New York's drop coverage scheme and a switch-scheme.

Drop schemes have the big drop into space to deny a shot at the rim while the on-ball defender chases on the ball-handler's hip (trying to funnel them into the big like a trap). A switch scheme has BOTH DEFENDERS switching who they guard, and taking away space from both offensive players. Watch the KP scoring clips back, and you'll notice that the on-ball defender stays attached to the ball-handler and follows the ball.

Now here are highlights from the Knicks' postseason scheme. Notice the on-ball defender doesn't stay with the ball-handler through the screen, but follows the big instead.

So, to be clear, Drop Coverage = Big man drops while the on-ball man stays on the ball-handler. Switch Coverage = BOTH defenders changing who they guard. They even tracked how much the Knicks shifted to genuine switching action from regular season to Game One in Boston:

Whether you want to call an obvious drop coverage a switching coverage; I'm talking about the scheme they used last series against Boston. It was blatantly not the same approach as in that KP clip. Part of the reason KP and Horford sucked during the series is New York keeping a defender attached to them and preventing the frequent open looks that you see throughout the regular season KP video. KP mighta beat those switches inside if he wasn't sick, but he sure as hell got way less open jump looks because of it.

I've never seen OG make 2 free throws in a row, it's a given he will always miss one.
That last inbound before regulation was insane, getting it Brunson, they double-team him, there are no Knicks near Brunson to help out, so he tries to hit it off the leg of one of the Pacers, and it somehow ends up in OG's hands. And then of course he had to hold it, because he was surrounded.

The situational awareness in that sequence was mind-boggling, if they do it properly, they most likely win.

Right. Knicks had the refs and crowd on their side and still lost Pacers are way better than nikkas think
I always knew they were goof last couple years. Boston swept them last year but it was a competitive sweep....3 games were very close.

Pacers go 10 deep...so much talent on roster and Carlisle actually coaching very well this year and utilizing the talent. Nembhart and Nesmith also be ballin. Haliburton done made 2 game winning/game extending shots this playoffs....he giving the league a big fuk u for calling him overrated.

Did y’all see Jalen Brunson glitching after he missed that last 3 or attempt at the end of overtime?

Nicca sees that he missed and tries to flop like somebody hit him, but there’s nobody around him (Nemhard jumped in other direction) so it just looks like he’s poplockin and shyt.

:krs:

Fool started backin that thang up. Turrible
