I have a theory on why.
A Naija girl told me a few weeks ago when she went to Nigeria the men over there were lazy and routinely beat their women.
A large majority of the women were outside working manual jobs only to come home and cook, clean and fight the abusive husband in tow.
You can’t leave your husband over there because the community will tell you to go back to him so they’re stuck in a cycle of frustration.
She asked her mother why she never told her why she truly left Nigeria and her mother replied, “shame.”
I'd really like to hammer home the point that we are on our fukking own:
Black Women in the African Diaspora know they can’t go on witch hunts or speak this boldly about Men in their own country.. so they come to the Americas and start going hard in the paint — particularly at Black American Men.
Again, I’m not absolving this gentleman.
The problem with this is we want to be able to show black folks that it’s possible to get in these spaces especially people who might think it’s impossible with so called checkered pasts. The hook on this guy is that he’s working at NASA with dreads. That’s it. If people are just going to try to bring up your past to shyt on your current accomplishments then good luck to a lot of these younger folks now. Like people from these past protests or people who participated in these store break ins who decided not to cover their faces… or what about these kids that just post general dumb ass shyt online. I don’t know what happened with this particular guy and I hope he clears this up, but man if he gets fired over this good luck to anybody who wants to flex their accomplishments trying to show black kids it’s possible.Facts
Once we're in the room, we need to learn how to scale up in silence and not trying to go viral
chick is kookoo for cocoa puffs
He shouldn't have been trying to flex on the internet and brought attention to himselfVideo would have never came up if he didn’t make anything out of himself and ended up better than her and her circle..
Sometimes when u young u make a mistake and unfortunately his career is going to be over
