Still don't understand why anyone would go to Dubai.
You heard the term "tourist trap"? Its literal in the case of Dubai.
They have a whole industry out there around arresting dumb foreigners and threatening long term incarceration over archaic unnecessarily harsh victimless crime laws. and forcing you to pay for freedom.

I am Muslim and can speak a little Arabic. I’m also black

I nearly got detained leaving Dubai a year ago. Cause the police thought I looked like a Sudanese breh they were going after.

I was with my brother who they also nearly detained and my mom.

My mom was about to throw hands at these fools but we had our passports on us cause we were going to the airport in a couple hours. They switched up a bit seeing we are American and not just random Somalis.

Then I put two and two together. The UAE is supporting the RSF’s ethnic cleansing in of groups in Sudan and they must be looking to detain dissenters.
