If the majority of children are raised by divorced or single parent families, of course the children from these families will not view marriage as a priority or something positive. This is why the statistics are reflecting that data. Cacs used media and government programs to destroy the family, now we are in 2015 to see the fruits of their labor. Actually this is a myth. Studies have shown that educated blk women are the only racial group of women that show a MARKED preference for the men of their own race.

In fact "African-American women said yes about 30 percent less often to Hispanic men; about 45 percent less often to white men; about 65 percent less often to Asian men."

Even when study controlled for physical attractiveness, black women showed a significantly higher preference for same race partners. This study was done among graduate students. So this myth that educated blk women want non-blk dudes is false.

There's a lot of literal urban myths that people take as fact. Whenever I see people say more BM marry non-Black women or 'studies show Black women will never get married' I also hit them with the face.

Because it would seem that when it comes to commitment and bonds married people are likelier to have a longer lasting one than people who shack up. Couples who shack up tend to leave relationships a lot quicker than married couples simply because they can. The fact that you don't want to get married says to me that you want that easy exit which is the opposite of a commitment and bond.

It's been proven before that these numbers are skewed. More women are waiting later to get married, so to say that only 26% of Black women ages 25-34 are married is not saying much. More Black women are focusing on school and career, and by age 55 and up, 87% of Black women are married or have been married at least once.
