A "hit" technically means a song that charted top 40 on the Hot 100.
A majority of Plies hits he either had features on the hooks (T-Pain, Akon, Ne-Yo, Jamie Foxx) or he was a featured artist. But here's his list of hits:

Shawty - peaked at 9
Hypnotized - peaked at 14
Bust it Baby - peaked at 7
Put it On Ya - peaked at 31

As a featured artist:

Khaled: I'm So hood - 19
Khaled: Out Here Grindin - 38
Gucci: Wasted - 36
Usher: Hey Daddy -24
Jeezy: Lose My Mind - 35

Young Thug's hits:

Stoner - 47
Best Friend - 45

As a feature:

Tyga: Hookah - 85 (song went gold)
TI: About the Money - 42
Rich Gang: Lifestyle - 16
Rae Sremmurd: Throw Some Mo - 30

:russ:

Funny you complied a bullshyt list (along with fact you conveniently left out some key information) which means absolutely nothing when we are comparing Plies vs Young Thug's overall resumes as artists.

Lol Plies by far has had the most successful career...I believe the majority of the posters on this forum didn't start listening to rap music until after Drake first came out. The hype Young Thug has now, Plies had it back then too with his street mixtapes. He didn't just come out of nowhere with a big record, Plies put real work in to get where he was....He was grinding heavy. nikkas don't remember how raw Plies actually used to before mainstream. Plies got enough hit records to be able to tour and eat goodfor the rest of his life. Some rappers would love to have the catalog of hits Plies has and he's still going strong in a new decade.

Young Thug is just getting started.....lets see if he can sustain more longevity and keep this pace up. Its sad that he don't respect him and makes fun of his age, but what Plies has done for himself is a hard feat and should get some credit.

Dudes in here overrating Plies and re-writing history LMAO. Bruh Bruh was a hit record?

Ahahahaha

Ritz Carlton is a hit? :what:

Plies had like a 2 year run. 10 years of turning out hits :what:

Plies been irrelevent for years. And even when he was hot he was putting out generic music which sounds dated as hell now.

Meanwhile you're underestimating the impact of Young Thug songs.

Watch this set:

Back to back to back hits. Crowd singing word for word. Does Plies have endless songs with fans singing word for word?

This is Young Thug in France

This is Young Thug in London

:wow::wow:

This is Young Thug in Amsterdam

You Coli dudes say some stupid stuff sometimes :wow:

i'm sorry

as i read this tweet, it says HITS

as in... sold records... high billboard charts... plaques on the wall HITS

and you are showing crowds of people singing words to signify hits now???

nikkas really in here negging me for Plies?!:what:

Quit negging me and provide facts. What hits Plies got besides shawty and buss it baby? Who gave a fukk about Plies after them songs vanished? Yall in here acting like Plies singlehandedly saved southern rap or some shyt. Nobody ever gave a fukk about Plies goof ass he a joke :mjlol:
facts:

plies first two albums went gold and were number 2 on the charts... not the rap charts... THE CHARTS

young thug first two albums combined to sell 60k total and both were number 22 on the charts and 5 and below on the rap charts

plies last album was 1 on the rap charts and 5 on the overall charts

he's also got 3 gold singles and was featured on 2 more gold singles.....

young thug was featured on 2 gold singles and featured on one plat single

he has never received a single plaque for anything he's ever done by himself in his entire career

would you like anymore facts sir?

You dudes confusing radio play with hits. Radio play if anything has more to do with industry politics and payola.

The people don't lie though.

This is his set from that concert I posted above:

Pull Up On A Kid -
2 Cups Stuffed
The Blanguage -
Hookah -
Stoner
Danny Glover (2 bytches) -
Power -
730 -
Rarri -
With That -
Stunna -
Again Ft. Gucci Mane -
About The Money w/ T.I. -
Peanut Butter Jelly w/ T.I. -
Check
Halftime
Quarterback w/ Quavo from Migos -
Goodtimes -
Lifestyle -
Best Friend

These aren't organic hits?

Please show me a similar Plies set.

so now we just gonna bullshyt huh :martin:

started off with hits

then no facts

quickly moves to b-b-b-b-b-but the radio is pay... so lets post shows :why:

then moves to "organic hits" when it's shown young thug ain't got no fukking hits :sas2:

y'all gotta do better.... start off saying what you trying to say... you wanna say he's more popular NOW... ok breh... then say that

but that wasn't his, nor your argument... you said HITS.... and hit records have an exact number attached to them..... and plies has way more HITS than young thug
