This site is straight fukkery. Dude makes a few good points but he's definitely reaching on some. Trying to assign an emotion to every note Thug sings like it's an objective rule - bruh, it's just a note. The emotion of the note depends on the context of where it's put, it doesn't stay the same through the whole song.

shyt crosses the line from 'informative' to 'deranged,' and it's legitimately impressive. Some people are too smart for their own good. :wow:

Also, this is why people who have no experience with the hood should not get this into trap and shyt. Some academic discussion of rap is cool, but a lot of it comes across as clueless and corny.

This dude is literally trying to compare Young Thug to Jim Morrison, cause Thug works with a consistent team of producers, and Jim Morrison had a band. Literally almost every rapper has 3-4 producers they work with constantly, and literally almost every rock group involves a band. Axl Rose had a band. Johnny Rotten had a band. Lenny Kravitz had a band. Fred Durst had a band.

Does this mean that Drake is now Fred Durst? :ohhh:

Anyways a lot of this is smart dumb shyt that's vaguely similar to the analogies you come up with when you're really high, and then realize later don't mean shyt. I have to applaud this dude's dedication, but I also think he should chill for a while and like, develop other interests. :skip:

Yeah this site is mr fantastic level reaching

on some

for shyt that simply isn't there. Over-intellectualizing Thugger to an insane point.

People with no musical knowledge exposing themselves in this thread.

If you broke down ANY artist like this you could make a case for genius, but if we're being straight, it isn't.
The whole point for "Having the vocals reflect the lyrics" is an ancient musical trick.

I know you don't want to understand, but rappers, and VOCALISTS, have been using these tricks forever. The whole
VOICE AS AN INSTRUMENT thing is as old as singing itself, and if you want to make it more focused on the rapping part, look
at James Brown.

Melody isn't as complex as people think it is. If you analyzed any rapper that sings/raps with melody you'd find plenty of musically
sound ideas. If someone went this in depth with Drake, I'm sure it'd look just as impressive.

Now, I think Young Thug makes catchy, good music. But, I don't like this idea that he's some melodic genius being repeated over and over.
What's the best way to get an idea in someone's head? Repetition.

You wanna know who was a genius? James Brown. Jimi Hendrix. Michael Jackson. To even put Young Thug on the level of such greats reveals your ignorance.
make one then tuff guy.
