I mean… especially with Poison, you can feel the energy of the song. It was good music in any style.

I think the young people know/feel that on top of probably hearing it before riding around with their pops, family functions, events, movies, etc.

I know my pops heavily influenced me to the music I listened to growing up. He wasnt really a rap guy. My pops was older by the time he had me so I was listening to oldies, funk, Prince, MJ, a lot of shyt from the 70’s and 60’s as well as 80’s. I didnt get into rap until my older siblings and family did since they was old enough to buy things.

So I think at some point they've heard the song before but either it was in passing or they didnt hear the lyrics or something.

ive always thought the reaction trend was kind of stupid, but it is endearing seeing a kid hear some old school shyt for the first time and really get into it. you can see a switch flip in their head like and its kind of comforting as someone getting up there in years. a LOT of young people are lost, but they're not all bad.
