I was just talking to a friend of mine the other day about Crimson Tide. He's never seen it. I was telling him about how Quentin Tarantino did some rewrites to punch up the dialogue. He injected some Silver Surfer dialogue and one of the more covert Tarantino race related scenes.



The lipizzaner stallions are thought to be from Portugal and all white, according to Gene Hackman's character, the white guy. Denzel sets him straight and let's him know that he's aware the horses are white but they're from Spain and are black when they're born. The Moors made their way to Spain from North Africa. Denzel's character is obviously a breh who was born black and now wears his white Navy uniform. Another great scene
