In order and I know I will catch hate for some of these choices, but I don't give a fukk, every movie I listed is a masterpiece and untouchable:

1.Schindler's List (Its one of the reasons I chose the work I do and I could write pages and pages on why this movie is virtually untouchable in terms of acting, story, dialogue, themes of morality, greed, etc...its just perfect in every way

2.Munich (Same reasons as listed above)

3.The Godfather/THe Godfather II (I include them both in the same slot since they are really companion films)

4.The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (Best cinematography in a movie. EVER.)

5.Requiem for a Dream (Its the scariest, most nihilistic, and realistic movie about the human spirit and morality I've ever seen...I will think about this movie everyday until I die...its so powerful, I refuse to watch it again.)

Honorable mention: Do the Right Thing, There Will Be Blood, Apocalypse Now, 12 Years A Slave, No Country for Old Men, JFK, Nixon, Anchorman, The Big Lebowski, Fargo, City of God, The Shining, Pan's Labyrinth

The only flick on your top 5 that I'm not a fan of is Requiem and it's just because as time has gone on, it hasn't aged that well in my eyes but it's a personal greatest list so who am I to knock your list breh? Props

1. Godfather (what's to say that hasn't been said? So I won't)
2. Rear Window (It's my favorite Hitchock film and is flawless. From the diegetic music, to the look of it, the tension, everything)
3. Citizen Kane (incredible work of art especially when you realize this is from a first time director. It is as close to a flawless movie as you can have)
4. The Social Network (I may catch flack for this one but Fincher and Sorkin are an incredible combination and there isn't a thing wrong with this movie. It says so much about greed, innovation, friendship, success, motivation, etc. It's a movie that I believe will be looked upon years from now similarly to how people look at Citizen Kane or the Godfather now)
5. Casablanca (again, possibly a pick that cats will rag on but the movie is perfect. It's got romance, drama, action, and it's freaking hilarious. Bogart at his best and despite what some people may think, the movie has a nice message. And for a "Hollywood" movie, it doesn't have a happy ending )

Honorable mentions: Maltese Falcon, Halloween, Schindler's List, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Philadelphia Story, Pulp Fiction, There Will Be Blood, Dr. Strangelove, The Third Man, The Good, the Bad and The Ugly and probably others I'm forgetting

Damn good list and all of these are atleast in my top 20 :obama:

As for Requiem, I haven't watched it since 2004 ( I own it on blu ray though) but it created such a powerful emotion in me that when I first watched it, I watched it like 5 times in a month span; I think its absolutely brilliant and the themes can be transported to other facets of life besides drugs

I think my issue with it is that it plays out similarly to an old Dragnet episode: Hey kids, don't do drugs or this terrible bad thing will happen. You hear that kids?

I feel you but its a lot deeper than that for me; its not just an anti-drug film; its a morality play concerning hope, and how hope operates in different spaces and for different people. Anyone that's ever had sincere, ferocious hope for something at any time in their lives can understand the characters...
