I don't know how I could ever choose just 1 movie.

When you say "favorite movie" I swear like 100 come to mind.

THIS.....it's an impossible task lol

If pressed today, I'd probably say Goodfellas.

But, on another day, I may say The Social Network, Children Of Men, The Sting, There Will Be Blood, For A Few Dollars More or On The Waterfront.

Both.

There would be a lot of crossover too.

Some that wouldn't crossover....

Favorites :Back To The Future, A Few Good Men, Quiz Show, Wall-E, Dr. Stranglove, Jurassic Park, Charlie Wilson's War

Greatest: Rashomon, Seven Samurai, Raging Bull, A Clockwork Orange

It's hard differentiation to make though lol

There are a lot of foreign films that I recognize as being masterpieces, but they aren't something I personally would really want to watch again any time soon.

shyt like The 400 Blows, Persona and The Seventh Seal come to mind.

That's what I mean by greatest and being objective. Battleship Potempkin or the seventh seal are great flicks but they aren't on my personal favorite list. Back to the future is one of my favorites but I don't think it's top 10 greatest flick of all time if I'm being objective.

Yeah, but at the same time, I can't put anything on my greatest list that I personally don't even like.

I think you can in the sense of saying that if I had to pick between watching Tango & Cash or The 39 Steps, I'm choosing Tango & Cash but I know which one is the superior flick

:sas2: Tango & Cash....

:sas1: nah I'm playing, 39 steps

Meaning if you had to think of what in your mind is the greatest movie ever made objectively, what would it be? Do I think Casino Royale is the greatest film ever made? Fukk no, but it's my favorite film ever made. Greatest would be something that is as close to perfect as you can get on film from every technical aspect right down to the acting and story.

Again it's too tough, too subjective.

If you want me to be objective then I can't base it on opinion I have to base it on facts. So OBJECTIVELY speaking I would say the greatest movie ever made is Wizard Of Oz.

75 years later and it's still required viewing for people of all ages. No other movie has ever had that type of longevity or relevance. In fact it's the only movie I'm certain EVERYONE has seen.
