Ordered Peter Flemings book, thanks for posting the article....I hate the contention that without meaningless, unfulfilling jobs, people would be at a complete loss, as if the lower classes don't have any dreams or aspirations, and should be working in the mill or the maquiladora, such a privileged, naive, stance.

Chilling...

I've unfortunately never had the pleasure of being fully engaged at work. Maybe I'm lazy but I've been in multiple positions and none of them inspired me to really shine.

I don't think humans were ever meant to labor as we currently do. :yeshrug:
I think that humans are inspired by curiosity and being uncomfortable with ignorance, along with a desire to learn. Most of our jobs don't include enough of that to provide motivation. And besides, in our daily lives, we do things so nobody notices. Shaved? Ironed shirt? Lawn mowed? Taxes filed? Shoes shined? Nobody gives a fukk. It's only when you fail to do so, then you're noticed. Stigmatized. Made an example of. We're so fukking afraid of failure and error that we don't have the balls to come up with original shyt.

Sad, really, how the majority of us spend the prime of our lives building the dreams of others.

We know better, but we are not doing better.

Oh, the pain of knowing that our lives are mediocre:mjcry::snoop:

Are there really guys arguing that its not work itself but the type of work which is to blame? Or that we should be happy we arent mining in 3rd world wastelands? You do realize that people work, in the hopes of NOT having to work one day right? And that the wealthy people we aspire to be like practically dont work at all and make money off of your need to feed yourself and family?

How smart are we? So smart that we have become the only animals on the planet that have to pay to live? Only depressed animals i see are humans and those that interact with them (pets or zoo creatures).
