Droog can be "RIGHT" in ALL of those bars but he has zero credibility because he's a straight up biter. No one is gonna take him seriously and shouldn't. Just listened to it since I've been home and GODDAMN my nikka you right. If that ain't Nas then this is the greatest troll in Hip Hop history.....

this was my original reasoning for why it could be Nas, because of Sekou Story/Live Now. After listening to the pitch corrected version that shyt got me like it fukking COULD be Nas 100%.



There was an old interview from around 2004 with Olu Dara where he said that right around the time illmatic dropped Columbia had Nas doing mad interviews and photoshoots and Nas hated it. He said Nas took him to a media event once and lamented that he wished people could only hear the music and that they'd never see his face....




20 years later is Nas making good on that promise? Has he found a way to drop a project without the ties to illmatic or his discography? Has he dropped a body of music that he hopes to be taken on its own merits rather than the expectations of what GOAT material should be like, as we. the fans continually attempt to pigeon-hole him and his artistry? Is this Nas saying that his heart will always reamin underground no matter where his fame and fortune takes him? Is this Nas the Goat simply being Nas the MC?

I always said I felt at first that Nas was trolling. Not Nas rapping, but him having something to do with the soundalike. They literally had Mass Appeal (Nas' label) write ups hyping dude and a Droog reveal show set up for him. Looked very trollish.

Also, I never understood trying to shame anyone who thought Droog was Nas anyway. It's fukking stupid. It's like trying to clown someone who heard audio of Godfrey doing his Richard Pryor impersonation and actually thinking it was Richard Pryor. It sounds just like him.

Fax. Ultimately the people he dissed should respond, but most of them won’t. And I understand why they wouldn’t. Droog just doesn’t matter in the larger scheme of things.

As a fan, I can’t rock with Droog because he intentionally rhymed like Nas and made references in the rhymes to make people think he was Nas. He was behind all of this and it was nothing more than some troll biter shyt. So I’ll probably never be able to give him a fair shake.
Plus he can be delusional and think he’s top 50 and better than everyone, but actually name names and diss legends like Common, Black Thought and Andre? As a troll biter with zero actual accomplishments to back up his claims?
