I fux with Bam bam heavy but the first time I heard chandeliers, him looking like a fukking lumberjack played a huge role in the factor.

There was substance there, but his image got him noticed, not just a white rapper but a fat fukking, wrestlmania character with red hair no less.

The whole "russian kid from brooklyn" hook seems to be alluding to how image and how much attention you get for your music go hand in hand....

I just saw a thread called "if illmatic was released today" or some shyt like that and how people would react to it...how a project like that would probably be middle of the pack, and it would...unless it was coupled with a compelling image/hook/gimmick, it wouldn't be able to stand out as much.

It's probably nikkas feeling droog that would call Nas washed up...this is some ole chinese connection type shyt, and if it is what I think it is, it's fukkING BRILLIANT.

If it was him, I'd lose some respect for him as an artist. All time legends shouldn't have to stoop to such gimmicky lows to bring attention to their music.

It's not even like "it's an alias and he's just releasing music for the hip hop heads to appreciate"... Droog raps from the perspective of a dude in his 20's that's from Brooklyn with far different life experiences than Nas does (and does so with more wit than Nas, as well, I might add). It would just seem like a waste of time and talent for Nas to go to those kinda lengths. With that being said, still haven't heard a bad song from Droog.
