For people with selfish hearts, any political system they create will be corrupt.

For people with righteous hearts, any political system they create will be "perfect."

it is not for lack of knowledge that our political or economic systems are fukked up, it is due to lack of character of those in "power."

Its for philosophy class? flip that shyt

write how there is no perfect political system because all political systems, regardless of their ideology, are created by humans Government of all type inevitably establishes a hierarchy in which humans are entrusted with power over the lives of other. Power corrupts humanity.

Name me one political system which has lasted to the test of time....?

There isn't any perfect political system. Human diversity is to great to satisfy everyone.

When I was in Prague talking to some of the former student leaders of the velvet revolution, this is what they told me: Remember in school when the teacher asked your class their opinions on some debatable decision or political issue, and remember how total consensus was so hard to achieve. If you can't organize a class, how can you organize a whole society?

Nothing involving humanity is possible of being perfect, not until the singularity at least. But I like the idea of a "scientific capitalism". The same way there is a very clear difference between honey and snake venom as it relates to overall human well being, there are policies, laws, and socioeconomic decisions that are objectively better than others. The role of our government should be that of an everlasting and evolving pursuit towards establishing a system that's as best as it can be for as many people as possible.

thats a good question..........

I think a voluntary government is a better option. A system where an individual isnt forced to pay taxes but rather chooses to do so because in doing so he knows it is in his best interest. When it no longer is in his best interest he no longer is obligated to support it.

This is a true democracy to me..........one that holds those who support dumb shyt accountable without penalizing the people who dont.

It also applies a constant pressure to the government to really do whats in the people's best interest because the people no longer are obligated to fund it.

free riders would love you

Anyway, ours is okay. Impose term limits on all federal and gov't positions, revise constitution every 400 years, forced participation in government/lottery style, and enforced demographic representation that reflects demographics of the land.

They see me trolling, they hating.....
democratic socialism is the only way a civilized society should operate.

No man or women should be wealthy while there are people at the bottom homeless living in cardboard boxes.

Eventually the US will go that route, the more scientifically inclined and intelligent we become, the more people will realize its the right thing to do....

this make take decades, hundreds or thousands of years, but it will happen.

Unless IQ's significantly drop in the future

Democracy is slow and it allows crazies to run the asylum. Our current system is a glorified mob rule. 200 million idiots are no less dangerous than one powerful idiot. If you dont mind redefining natural rights, build off totalitarianism with a touch of constitutional monarchy and elect a leader(s) a la Plato's philosopher king. I dont how you would go about doing this but this system would need some way of weeding out the lames to select enlightened, moral, benevolent supreme leaders.

I think the "perfect" political system is one where the people vote on EVERYTHING (through the internet). We no longer need these piece of shyt politicians who don't do jack shyt for THE PEOPLE to speak for us. It is not the year 1800 where we need representatives to travel weeks by buggy to congress to vote. We can vote our god damn selves. You think if they put SOPA or any of these silly bills they're trying to pass to a direct vote by the people that it would pass? Not a chance. Their only chance is to lobby politicians to obtain their vote (not hard to do).

The fact remains however, that people who want to be in power, are probably the people who should not be in power. Scientists, intellectuals, none of them want to be politicians. "You don't need an IQ test to be in congress".
