I thought it was dope just off the fact that they used the Slick Rick line from "La Di Da Di".

That song dropped right before xmas 96. First time I heard it was on Angie Martinezs show on Hot 97. I kept a tape in the radio for such an occasion and recorded it....Put my cousin and friends on to it. First time I heard it I knew it was an instant hit. Thats just how it was with Biggie...anytime he dropped a single from 'Who Shot Ya' to 'Players Anthem' to 'Hypnotize' it was always an instant hit.
