It was pretty much the beginning of the end for the Attitude era and you knew that things weren't going to be the same anymore. Kind of felt like I had lost my best friend when SCSA turned heel.

It didn't have to be with the Invasion around the corner..it did 700k....they sabotaged their own product.

The dirt sheets spilled the beans weeks before this, so I knew what was finna go down. Stupid decision, the heel run was all forced, no one wanted to hate him. I laughed when he beat Hillbilly Boy, the Lita shyt was cringe. During the invasion, fans got behind SC so easily, then he turned heel again during the Inaugral Brawl, then started the wackest feud ever with a struggle babyface Angle. That was wack af, Angle sucks as a face, people still cheered SCSA against that lame even when they weren't supposed to.

The night after SurSeries 2001, SC and Angle switched bike to face and heel so seamlessly because they were never legit on the other side of the coin. Most forced turns ever, the WWF dropped the ball on all that, leading to the end of the AE.

It was shocking. Joining up with Vince and basically treating him like a father figure and constantly seeking his love and affection never made sense, but I was down with that whole heel run.

That's why it became comedy when he and Kurt were all Frasier and Niles competing for Vince's love...

I guess they salvaged their mistake with all the comedy, especially when Buff Bagwell tried to be boys w them and got his ass kicked instead :mjlol:

Honestly it made sense to me, they beautifully painted the storyline that BOTH men HAD to win can neither man CANNOT lose. Unlike Rock it was Austin that was willing to go one step further.... sell his soul to the one man he hated most in this world :wow:that was when the championship meant something when men are willing to change up their careers for possession of it.

Plus you had the great sell job to really put it over ":wtf:DA HELL! AUSTIN WHY DAMNIT WHY! :mindblown: YOU SOUL YOUR DAMN SOUL BY GAWD! :damn:" Plus you had da demigod Paul Heyman on commentary spitting the truth ":dahell:Why are all yall shocked? Austin is a RATTLESNAKE this really doesn't change who he is. Never trust a rattlesnake"
