today i went into a stealership just for a oil change, its near my work so i just left my car until lunch. About half hour later i get a call and dude is telling me my air filter and air cabin filter needs change, it will be 115 bucks to replace. I';m like no thanks.

anyways to make a long story short i hit up my local auto parts store and bought a air filter for 15 bucks and a air cabin filter for 10 bucks and replaced both of them in under a minute

My ex had a rover they use to charge her something stupid like 400 for an oil change and brakes :childplease:

I will place an order at a local auto parts store wait till they come in since i couldnt just walk in and buy her breaks everywhere.

They cost me bout 80 bucks my man puts em in for 40 bucks.

She goes to jiffy lube or somewhere like that for her oil changes now.

I take my car to the dealership for services because I have a maintence package every once in a while they'll try and get one over on me.

"you have two tailights out....we can install them for $50"

:skip:

Or I can just buy the two bulbs and do it myself for $5.... fukaaz

you'd be surprised how ignorant car drivers/owners can be, and they just don't know shyt about cars. they just go pay the price the dealers call when it can be hundreds cheaper to shop around or just do it yourself.

especially the consumers with money that drive the more expensive cars, most of them just don't give a fukk.

I stopped going anywhere near a dealership as soon as my warranty was up. Anytime you drop it off, you know you gonna get that phone call later. Now just order parts on Amazon and take them to the mechanic around the corner

My wife's Infiniti needed some new brakes. Turns out the front and rear rotors were warped. So I called the dealership to see about getting them done or the price. The dude tells me for front and back rotors and pads it's going to be $1,500.:mindblown: So I went to AutoZone. Got the front rotors and brake pads, the rear rotors and brake pads and had a $20 off coupon and had 2 $10 dollar mail-in rebates. I ended up paying $203 for everything and then $20 off when the mail-in rebates came back.:youngsabo: Then I took it to my homeboy house (who's white) and he put it all on in 90 mins for $50. So the $203 + $50 - $20 in mail-in rebates = $233 on a job that would have cost me $1,500 if I had went to the "Stealership". :mj:

i work at BMW and MINI and :heh: when i see these poeple in for service and these other sales people (especially MINI) believe that they should not go anywhere else for repairs.

im like if your not under warranty there is no reason to be wasting this much money if you dont need to! :pachaha: its mostly broads tbh :yeshrug:

one thing with BMW's though i would not trust just anyone with mine. You've got to pay to play this game

Had an '02 C32 AMG. shyt was fast as fukk but after a while it seemed that the engine would just lose half it's power during acceleration. Brought it into the dealership... they told me they needed to replace the transmission and had to fly it in from Germany to do so. Quoted me $6k+. I :heh: and told them I'd think about it and call them back.

Went home, logged onto MBWorld.org | and found that it was a known issue with that year of car. The issue was actually the intercooler pump. Bought a similar part that was designed for the Ford Lightning truck for $90 (I think), put it on in about an hour, and was good to go.
