I was 16 and sonically it was so ahead of its time that I didn't really "get it" for a few more years. I didn't even bang All Eyez when it first came out because I thought me against the world was better :manny:

This was the phase I started getting into miracle lyrical shyt. I was one of those cats that swore Canibus was the messiah and shyt :russ: :snoop:

I didn't fully comprehend Pacs lyrics back then until he died. His lyrics took on a total different meaning once he died.

album was released on November 5th nearly two months after Pac had passed away. Some heads were obviously disappointed cause they were expecting an All Eyez On Me type of album... but i loved the dark gritty vibe of it and it marked a return to the more social consciences Pac that most loved.

I didn't listen to it until about 8 months later due to..... unforeseen circumstances.

And as much as shyt as I talked about Pac during his Death Row years, I listened to the shyt front to back about 500 times straight.

It was perfect. Perfect album.

Except for "Toss it Up", I mean.

I was wondering why it was mixed and mastered so poorly.

To be honest, I think a lot of his catalog can stand a good remastering but that's just me.

I'll say this, I think it was a hell of a way to go out, while I still didn't think it was as good as MATW, the album was an amazing listen and one of my favorite albums that year, it was modern (for the time period) but had an old school sensibility, and Pacs lyrics were brilliant.

I was expecting uptempo/fun shyt like AEOM..I was only in 5th grade so the album was lil too gritty and deep for me at the time, I really appreciated more as I got older.
