My cousin is going through it. Keep in mind this is taking place in todays job market.

She’s about 5 days past due to the point where the doctors are trying to convince them to induce.

He took some time off from work….contract work, to fly back home with his wife because she wanted to give birth where she will be immediately close to family…as opposed to flying with a new born. Everything would have aligned if the baby was born on time.

Problem is he already extended his time off to the point where they are saying if you don’t come back in the next few days then don’t come back at all. I’m sure they said it nicer way.

He makes $150,000 per year with zero education on top of doing a 5 year state vacation a few years ago so it’s good money. He’s worried that if he gets fired that he won’t be able to land another job like this again BUT they (the couple) don’t want to induce because according to him that will stress the baby and something about a C section.

You risking steady work by being there for your first born or we saying f them kids and you’ll see the little bundle of joy at a later date?

I missed 2 of my sons' birth because of work because those 2 times, their mothers went in unexpectedly. One of my jobs was in East Liberty, Ohio at the Honda plant and my son was born in Westerville. Not necessarily a short drive.

My last son, I was actually in the delivery room with my wife. She probably was thinkin' "ok, you already got 3 sons, you need a daughter" When the doctor lifted the baby up and I saw it was a boy, I jumped up and yelled "4 FOR 4!!!!!"
