Wherever nikkas need to be told on
@Eric Blair, the coli is one of the only places where I've heard that a kid with only one black parent is not indeed black. Usually, as you indicated, the one drop rule has guided our determinations of who is black and who is not. What's interesting is that folks may not be holding fast to that principle anymore and that people have all kinds of criteria for determining who's what. Now, the one drop rule was obviously racist so I'm not grieving it's falling out of favor. But I do question if the "new" ways we are classifying each other and assigning a race to one another is any better.

As an african american I find the one drop rule empowering in a way, if you look at the context in which racists used it they were saying having black ancestors in any form tainted you somehow and reflected negatively on your intelligence. Now when mixed people achieve things these days whites want to claim them, ill be in the cut of the comments section like :umad: One drop rule honkies :umad:

My mom is mixed race but my dad is black, one of my best friends in high school who goes to Cornell now would always try to make me claim white. I was like :camby:

Thanks for sharing. So, race-wise, how do you identify? :mjpls:

African,

fukk all that c00n shyt. The only difference between me and these self haters is they grew up being told they werent shyt from all angles and I grew up in a home with hundreds of black-written books.

I also consider myself native american since mom is 1/4, but a black native american if that makes sense. Im about as American as it gets
