I would say golf, but the thread title makes it kinda vague. Being the best player in a certain sport doesn't mean you get that level of recognition. Not everyone knows who the greatest hockey player in the world is right now, and plus the sport you choose could be in a period where the league is full of scrubs, and you just happen to be the best I might not be like Tiger or the Williams.

Taking that into account, it would be baseball. Injuries aren't as freak/devastating, you can play until you're 40, you make good money like mentioned before, and baseball players get that all-American, all-Cubano, all-Japanese VIP treatment. Imagine all the p*ssy you would get The hands you would shake The commercials you would shoot It's like a medium between golf and football. Only thing is that you would be playing outdoors all summer then outdoors all of fall too
