No one is trying to flex though. Most do it for convenience.

The account level is by far more convenient than trying to do it per device, pi-hole, etc.

Don’t know about android but for iPhone you can just download Musi to listen to music with the phone off. It’s basically audio version of YouTube. Most podcast you can listen to on a podcast so don’t need YouTube for that either. All these subscriptions are cash grabs wall music, TV and movies are free if you know where to look
