They have destroyed the search option on YouTube. It’s next to useless now unless you want to see very recent videos of very popular channels. You can search a video title exactly and if the video is older or from a less popular channel they will bury the video and force you to scroll through suggested videos from the algorithm that have nothing to do with what you searched for. The algorithm prioritizes what they want you to watch over relevance to your query.

I searched for some specific videos (funny recut trailers made around 2010) about a month ago, trying my damnest to narrow the search by date and key words but gave up after 20 minutes of frustration.

Yeah it's been like that for a few months I believe. Totally ridiculous. I think it's more effective to just use the Google search engine, or any other one, to search for YouTube videos.
