Her pops worked for 26 years with the police department. He worked his way up to being a police major which can earn lower to mid 6 figures. He was also married so after 20+ years of dual income and investing why would it be difficult for a couple to be able to come up 750k?

They should have at least that.. even conservatively saving and investing just 20k per year would put them over 400k liquid without any ROI. If they invested in the stock market or 401k they should be well over 1 million with an average return on their investment over 20 years. Once he retired from the police dept he could have pulled all the money out from his 401k and have the cash to get a mcdonalds right there. fact is its not far fetched... It's actually how its supposed to be and what cacs been doing for years.. its just that too often blacks have broken homes and low incomes so they miss out on the basics of middle class wealth building.

Yeah, in the part that I was accused of "making up", she was questioning if it was inherited money (did an ancestor tap into the new deal? which was under FDR), or whether her father was a former pro athlete. Fair questions ,I guess.....the answer is no to both.

He would have been a retired officer at maybe 46 years of age drawing a lifelong pension, no student loan debt ever in his working adult life(city paid for his education), probably a paid off mortgage....whatever investments he made over the years + a wife who worked her entire adult life.
People watched the video and still not thinking that he and his wife could have purchased a franchise. It's not commonplace, it wouldn't have been easy, but entirely possible.
