I like him but he cherry-picked and made an issue out of a nonissue.

The single making $70k with 3 kids.

nikka, where? Where is this woman? That was disingenuous AF!

Only thing that worries me is the effects it will have on education funding.
He was talking about her lifestyle if she made 35k after the tax exceptions. What he is saying is her exceptions affords her a life that she couldn't afford otherwise.

With the new code, now she will be placed in a higher tax bracket which the credit will also be given but what is it when her lifestyle drops to someone making 30k which is impossible to raise kids and live off of.

Let's be real, I made 30k before. I couldn't live off of that shyt. You asking a woman with a child to live off of that and if child support is low, that shyt can break her.

Not going to watch the video, as she's apparently another faux militant who told the world Trump wasn't worse than Clinton yet here we are discussing a tax bill designed to fukk the poor, which wouldn't exist if Clinton had won but...

I work in finance/accounting. Basically if you make 70k, are married with a kid (or 3) the bill (which is NOT law and has NOT passed congress yet) will cut your taxes to a degree, assuming you don't live in a state like California or New York with high state taxes. If you are working class and single or have children out of wedlock your taxes don't go up a large amount directly, but by eliminating multiple benefits and healthcare your cost of living will increase enough to be a problem. Especially in states like CA, NY, CT, NJ etc.

It's an interesting study in targeted, regressive policy. Republicans have long argued the poor/barely working class (ie blacks and Hispanics, in their mind) have no skin in the economic game, which is why they're so quick to support democrat policies that increase spending (and thus require an increase in taxes). By effectively raising the taxes of much of the democrat base of support (struggling or working blacks and Hispanics, plus even more whites btw), they're cynically betting that these people suddenly realize high taxes are bad and thus stop supporting policies that could raise taxes. Meanwhile they're cutting enough taxes for many (white) middle and slightly upper class people that they're betting they vote republican enough to protect the bill for the forseeable future.

For black people...a lot of single mothers are going to be fukked. The days of effectively being paid to have children out of wedlock are about to be over..for a time. Medicaid and welfare spending will be easy to reverse when democrats take over again. But the thing you gotta remember is that republicans are SHRINKING government, constantly. They are forcing a spending crisis. You shrink government and lower taxes enough and you'll spark a situation where massive cuts need to be instituted. At which point they get to really gut Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, etc. The game is simple. They create a fiscal crisis, republicans get wiped out, democrats get elected. Democrat spends 4-8 years fixing the problem....but progress is obviously slow. Republicans sneak into office again and do it again. Eventually you get to a point where you force a crisis.

This is a football game with two bad offenses, where everything is about field position. You get the ball, move it a little, and punt. Eventually the other side gets the ball close enough to the redzone/endzone to score. Democrats scored with Obamacare, which was the biggest wealth redistribution (wealthy to the poor) in 50 years. Now republicans are poised to score with this, reverse much of those Obamacare tax gains while making a huge redistribution back to the wealthy.

Check the second page.
You gotta have to link it for me, breh. I don't see it. Atleast, I don't think so.

You talking about this post? http://www.thecoli.com/goto/post?id=27428507#post-27428507

There aren't much from what he posted. He's full of half baked data points.

Yea, posting this;

  • From 1997 to 2013, African American women-owned businesses grew by 258 percent.
  • As of 2016, African American women-owned firms make up 61 percent of all African American-owned businesses.
  • African American women-owned firms generate an estimated $52.6 billion in revenue per year.

Is a problem. @NoChill Jones breh, I apprecite what you're trying to do, but, you can't understand the entire landscape by posting good stats without context

  • Ninety percent of black businesses are just self employed people, ie, people with no employess
  • What are the names of these firms that are owned by black women? Like, I really want to know.
  • And what does that say to black people as a whole.I don't think we are gonna be able to connect $54.6 billion to black business that serve black people.

The thing I hate about the criticism against Yvette is this idea that she's aying all black people are poor.

No, if you actually watch her videos--I understand 2 hours is a lot--she shows that the media always concentrates on showing the images of successful black people without proper context to make us think it's all okay.

Check my thread; there aren't even 400,000 black families worth over ONE million dollars and you are telling me just firms owned by black women are making $52.6 billion per year? :dahell:

Thread full of stats WITH context;

The reality is; only a few of us live outside of the South. Sixty percent of black people in America live in the South.

Check theses unemployment rates;

Nationally is 4% and these are the bottom ten states
Unemployment: Where does your state rank? - CNNMoney

  • Alabama 7%
  • Arizona 7
  • Tenn 7.1
  • Cali 7.4
  • D.C. 7.4
  • Kent 7.4
  • Mich 7.7
  • Nevada 7.7
  • Georgia 7.8
  • Miss 8
10 States With The Largest African-American Populations

Mississippi, Georgia, Alabama, DC are all in the Top Ten of black population in this country

And here;

The Jobless Rate for Young Black Men Is a National Disgrace | RealClearPolicy

The U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey gathered data on the jobless rate of non-institutionalized men, 20 to 34 years old, averaged over the period, 2010-2014, for 34 major US cities. The data paint a grim picture for black men, particularly in the Midwestern industrial and the Mid-Atlantic cities. Like Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and D.C. all had black jobless rates above 45 percent. In these cities, more young black men were either jobless or imprisoned than employed.

Black people are not okay. It's not your fault, it's not Yvette's fault. It is reality.

And when you post that this tax reform is hitting everyone equally and black people will be alright is ridiculous.

You don't understand our real existence.

So what do you do to combat that? And voided tax credits are not enough to break an entire race of people. Black people will be fine stop the fear mongering, this shyt will affect everybody. Poor whites, hispanics, Asians,AND blacks. Its not a covert law that is directly written to undermine blacks specifically.......:mjlol:..........its a law to shyt on poor people in general.

Exactly, we just are disproportionately poor, but this is just another weapon used by the system to break the other classes, mainly the working class and poor-working class.

:snoop: This is why black people will never mobilize. Anyone with remotely any faults gets vilified and ignored because THIS will be the thing people walk away with "Yvette Carnell is pro-Trump"

This is from November 2016. Months before these white boys started losing their minds.

Between that and this, she's got on a bunch of black entertainers from pretending Trump wasn't their friend years ago.

And all she's say her is America was racist before Donald Trump ran for President.

She even brings up a book about 1919.

I, personally, have a problem with people making Trump the face of evil just to run back to the arms of Democrats after we said fukk Hilary after she was gonna continue the status quo if she got elected.

Look at what she says about Steve Bannon.@ 16:30.
She had plenty of disqualifiying faults before being made to look stupid by trump. She's a defeated coward who pushes the premise that empowerment is impossible, and that black people's only solution is governmental assistance.

This could be a good thing going forward. A lot of our problems could be lessened if we weren't so accepting of children born out of wedlock. Lots of people may have the opportunity to advance further without the child to consider. The problem is, the jobs haven't replaced the benefits, and the belief that factories providing self supporting jobs are coming back in large quantities is unrealistic. Most of the talks of factories aren't in places where large amount of black people live. (Keep that in mind if the jobs do come back, and they try to say white peope got back to work, but we're just lazy, and we should just pack up, and move to the jobs, as if picking up and moving is that simple, especially black folks to rural white areas where we're not wanted anyway)

Republicans are trying to sell these potential jobs, as if there is some clause in the bill that says corporations only get the tax cut if they hire American humans. Most of the jobs that come back will be automated. So these corporations get to invest in robotics, use automation, still get the tax benefit, and the dividends from investing in the companies providing the robots.

Nothing that I've said is about data. I don't like the bullshyt that she pushes.

Since you do like her and her bullshyt, reconcile the video that I posted of her cosigning trump's "what do you have to lose?" speech to blacks with this current video of her whining about what trump's tax plan will do to blacks.

Black women owned business don't make $56 billion a year annually

Today, black women own roughly 14 percent of all businesses in the country owned by women, which tallies to around 1.3 million businesses, according to the report.

“While nationally African American women comprise 14% of all women-owned firms, African American women comprise a greater than average share of all women-owned firms in Georgia (35%), Maryland (33%), and Illinois (22%),” the report says.

Statistics show that throughout these 1.3 million companies, nearly 300,000 workers are employed and the businesses generate an estimated $52.6 billion in revenue. When digging into the number of black-owned businesses overall, 49 percent are owned by women.

^^^ American Express did this for 1997-2015...

...but

As of 2016, there are an estimated 1.9 million African American women-owned firms, employing 376,500 workers and generating $51.4 billion in revenues.

On average, firms owned by women of color are smaller than Caucasian women-owned firms. Overall, women owned firms average $143,431 in annual revenues per firm, with non-minority women-owned firms averaging $201,948 in annual revenues and minority women owned firms averaging $68,982.

Looking across all minority groups, average annual revenues are highest among Asian American women-owned firms ($184,669), followed by $75,170 among Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander women-owned firms, $68,141 among Native American/ Alaska Native women-owned firms, $52,087 among Latina-owned firms, and $26,550 among African American women-owned firms.

^^^ American Express did this for 2007-2016...

$26,550 times 1,900,000 (or 1.9 million black female businesses) is 34,515,000,000 ($3.6 billion)

This is for 2016...where the hell they get that black women are generating $56 billion a year?

And again, context states that Native Americans are making more in business  than black women even as 60% of our kids are being raised by single black mothers.

:snoop:

This tax reform is screwing us.

At the end of the day, the only solution to automation is UBI (universal basic income), which would replace traditional welfare as we know it. The problem is that automation is going to continue decimating the job market in between now and when people finally come to support UBI. Last year, UBI was voted on in Switzerland and was soundly rejected (in a referendum). If you can't pass UBI in Switzerland in 2016/2017, you sure as fukk can't pass it in the United States within the next decade.

Amazing that we're going to be having this conversation as immigration continues to animate the far right/white people. Imagine ten years from now, when the Hispanic population is even larger and whites are clinging to the final remnants of their majorities...imagine the racist campaigns that will be run against UBI lol. It's not going to happen anytime soon. And people will suffer.

We're fukked.

Just...no...

:baldD:

I legitimately can't see how you could get that by just watching just one of her shows in full.

She's never advocated on relying government assistance. Reparations isn't WIC and food stamps.

Empowerment is creating a base to hold politicians feet to the fire and creating a criteria for joining said base.

Ya'll think "a lot of money = empowerment" when there's plenty of proof that isn't true. Go read up on black billionaire Baron Allen's suit against Comcast.

Her whole thing is financial literacy is good when you have money. So, we need to fight for black people to be included in the race to compete economically.

Breh, if she was on that, I wouldn't want anything to do with her.

Black people were living in sewage in Alabama and there Representative was talking about DACA (Latinos). She mobilized to correct that.

Yvette Carnell Calls on Rep. Terri Sewell to Answer for Hookworms Affecting African Americans | EURweb

This is what she is advocating for.

Making sure black people have the politically support not to be infected with hookworms when only place with extreme poverty deal with that.

Hopefully you aren't one of these black folk you think we'd be alright if we ignored the political process completely...

I haven't watched any of her shows in full. She literally said the things I claimed that she stands for tho. She literally said that blacks can't empower ourselves and that the only solution is governmental assistance. I'm not even reading the rest of that bullshyt you wrote.
