I coould imagine it would be weird to see any of these rappers you knew from highschool become rappers and blow up....cuz be honest most of these dudes wuz probaly "weirdos",not street nikkas,or just regular chill dudes.....imagine seein them go from that,to bein all over radio talkin bout catchin bodys and clutchin ak's,straight shyttin on bytches and whippin in the kitchen movin ki's.....as a hiphop fan u understand its entertainment but I gotta admit it would be hard to seperate the two if I actually KNEW these dudes and had hung out wit em.

Spot on. Braff does come across as a racist in this clip for repeatedly emphasizing that she was articulate. He didn't seem to have any idea about her home life or where she was actually from.

Lol at the idea that LH's image wasn't "conscious" and "smart" for lack of a better word when the Fugees were popping on the 90s. Also, all of this was common knowledge at the time. She had a lead role in a major Hollywood movie.

That was an exaggeration on my part to say "all of this". Obviously, I'm not talking about the fact that she knew Zac Braff. I meant the fact that she was an actress before the Fugees blew up. That was common knowledge. I wasn't a fan of the Fugees or Lauryn so I don't know what she claimed in her music about her background.

I thought he was also saying that her image with the Fugees was a 180 from the Lauryn he knew? And the fact that he kept emphasizing how articulate she was is an indication that he believed she was dumbing down her image. Or at he's a racist who believes all of hip hop is dumb.

What I've heard is that New Ark was her production team who helped make Miseducation, but Lauryn did not want to give them full credit so they abandoned her. That's the rumor why she hasn't made another help because she really can't by herself

Part of S/O is urban. Wait is it me , or it seems like no one outside of Ny/Nj realizes that the hood extends out into suburbs. Queens Ny is majority suburb, just as hood as the complexes over there.....
