this years dunk contest is gonna be epic. lavine, wiggins, aaron gordon.

they need to get rid of that stupid team shyt though.

silver should get punched in the throat if they set up the dunk-off like that ever again. that shyt was a stupid idea from jump and it actually ended up even shyttier than it sounded. i don't know why the nba tries to dress it up with all these lame ass gimmicks and formats and corny announcers and shyt.

they get great dunkers in the contest, so just them fukking dunk. and if dude's flop, then so be it. the nba can't force it to be entertaining with all that extra crap. if the dunks aren't good, then the dunk contest isn't good, period. you just gotta live with that.

And yet, NBA scouts view LaVine as the better prospect.

You're not making the playoffs next season manito, they took him because at 13 there was nobody else with his potential, he legitimately has the type of talent that could make him a superstar in a few years. He's the swing for the fences type of player, and I do think he will turn into something when Love leaves. There's a decent chance you're going to end up with Wiggins, you've been on your old school doom and gloom posting :banderas: but I think your squad will be better in 2-3 years in large part because of LaVine and possibly Wiggins.

If Ricky's gone it won't matter. If it takes 14-15 years for this team to even think about playoffs again, it's not worth it. Besides, it requires Flip hitting on more picks (because LaVine ain't that fukking special) and the last player that ever developed on that team was KG himself.

and I still have MAJOR doubts that they even wind up with Wiggins. I'm fully prepared to see Waiters and Bennett and have Flip stutter all through the press conference only answer softball questions (and that's only because I don't know what I'd do if I saw Harrison Barnes hold up another jersey of a team I root for)

LaVine was drafted based on potential, there are very few wing players on his level athletically that can shoot, and even less than can dribble :yeshrug: If he puts it together he's going to be a stud.

But it's not based on anything other than workout settings and makeshift dunk showcases. That's simply not enough to make me think he's gonna be the next big thing at SG. I get the idea, I really do, but it contradicts what Flip says he's trying to do. I can't take what Zach or Flip do seriously if they're blowing it up in the process. This isn't like Philly where people think they're doing the right thing by tanking aggressively. This team simply can't afford to do that. There better be a potential franchise player ready to take over after Ricky departs and LaVine ain't that. Y'all can get moist off his dunks all day. If they're losing by double digits every time he does one, then who cares?

Jordan Adams was better than him though.

Which is problem #1. He's useless for the next year or two at the very least. In these 2 years, they could lose everything. All that could be left is Dieng and LaVine, and then what's it gonna matter what he does? If you're trying to make the playoffs next year and you drafted someone to NOT help you do that, then you did nothing to improve your team for next season. It's like "don't even bring up his name til he's ready to play basketball since he does nothing for them now" What good is his potential gonna be in 4 years time when he's gonna wanna get paid and move on somewhere else since nobody else of worth would be here.

MKG's calling card was his defense. LaVine's calling card is jumping really high by himself in local gyms and dunking.

When it came time to produce and put in work, MKG did it. LaVine bytched up and did nothing. Him bricking shot after shot is not on the coach.

because that would be preventing them from doing what?

You'd rather have Tyus Jones as their PG? :smh:

I don't follow your logic. They should treat an extremely limited point guard like a franchise player because they could still have some money leftover to make other moves? The love affair with Rubio has moved into the same territory as hood wenches who can't let go of an unemployed, no-good man. "You just don't understand girl, he has vision. One day he gonna put everything together and get us out the projects."

moves like...?

It's Glen and Flip we're talking about here. The Country Club.

Do you remotely trust either of those two to be able to land a franchise player on any level? I'm not even gonna bring up Milt Newton. You think LaVine has no skill? Milt's just there to keep the NBA off Glen's back.

Answer that question before you could even proceed to decide what to do with Ricky (and I don't think it will ultimately be Minny's decision to keep him)

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?

:dead: @ The bold, you are my dude but the Ricky quotes kill me, he's not a franchise player and his ceiling isn't even close to superstar. For the life of me I cannot understand why you're so high on him, PG is the deepest position in the NBA you lose him and you'll bounce back just fine.

Mood Muzik Tre is back :blessed: always prepping for the worst. Eh, I think you all get Wiggins, seems like it's destined to happen at this point.

Nah, he shot up the boards because he is 6'6", can dribble and he has the makings of a jumper in conjunction with elite tier athleticism. It's not just about the dunks, he ran some PG for you in the summer league and if he were as unskilled as you make it seem he wouldn't have be able to do that in ANY setting. What Flip is saying is BS, you're not making the playoffs next year with or without Love :yeshrug: at the very least I'm sure fans would show up if you had Air Canada and Light Skinned Levitation out there jumping over dudes left and right. You can sell fans on hope and the LaVine/Wiggins pairing (provided you get him), their development alone would be interesting to watch.

Ricky isn't a franchise player, you're going to need one of those with him around, and :scusthov: if you give him the max......

My answer is no.

And you can't pay Ricky unless he miraculously discovers a stroke. The playoffs are not an option for the roster as presently constructed. They have to do a legitimate rebuild. Do I think the people in positions of power and influence can do so given their track records? Not really. But I like a few of the pieces (Lavine, Dieng, Bazz) moving forward. I wouldn't want Ricky running my team. His inability to score scares me.

PF is deeper.

You lose Ricky, you're not getting a good replacement. Guaranteed.

10 years in. If I sounded like blackthoughts I would sound like a dumbass regarding this organization.

He was uncomfortable doing it. I don't know why they bothered. He was much different off the ball. Hard to judge really cuz Shved was meh at running PG too. Stick to one position and learn it.

You can't sell fans on more losing on top of the losing they've already seen. They'll stay away. No one's gonna watch a team get their ass kicked every night simply so they can maybe see a LaVine dunk. That's like saying they'll show up to watch the Halftime Show.

Ricky isn't a franchise player, you're going to need one of those with him around, and :scusthov: if you give him the max......

I don't care if they pay him $1 or $100 mil. Keep him. If it's $1 great. If it's $100 mil, cool. You're not gonna use that money wisely.
If $15 mil a year a day will keep another Corey Brewer away, be my guest.

Motherfukkers complained about Terrence Ross and he did real well. How hyped up would people even be about a guy who has more DNP's than dunks?
