Both are classics. Not 100% related, but Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask were lit too.

Ocarina... :wow:
When you entered the forest temple for the first time and that music... :whoo:
You knew it was getting real.

A Link to the Past is my personal pick for GOAT Zelda game. Some of the puzzles in the later dungeons like the Ice Palace, Turtle Rock, and Ganon's Tower still leave me scratching my head. And the secrets that were hidden... genius. Anyone else here ever get the bomb and arrow upgrades from the Fairy Queen by tossing rupees into the pond of happiness? Easily a top 5 SNES game. (Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Mega Man X, and Super Mario All-Stars+World are up there)

IMO A Link to the Past and Ocarina are the GOAT Zelda games, followed by Link's Awakening and Majora's Mask. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess were just okay to me.
Course we got those upgrades without looking at the guide too. LTTP was my first Zelda game so I'm partial to that. Loved the two headed turtle that yiu had to jill with the fire and ice rods. If you didn't find that ice rod (which if i remever correctly was in some random cave and not a dungeon)
Still, the fight with Ganon at the end of OOT was Gawd lIke.
As for GOAT SNES games, you better include DKC 2 in there. Improved over the original in pretty much every way. I remever I was  as a kid when I saw DK was out and replaced by Dixie. Then, I played the game and realized she completely shyt on DK as a playable character :pachaha:
The soundtrack too :wow:
Right up there with Chrono Trigger and MMX as best OST on the system

TORONTO!
Didn't get a SNES until way after so I never got to experience LTTP when it was fresh but Ocarina of Time is/was my shyt.

Still got it, just wish I hadn't traded the gold cartridge and my gold Zelda 1 for some shyt I don't even remember. Got the gold Zelda II and gold Majoras Mask though :snoop:

OOT aged a lot better imo. The atmosphere is still amazing in that game and makes me feel like a kid. I played through it again last year, still the GOAT game. Spirit Temple :wow:.

Dungeon wise its not necessarily better than the other 3d zeldas, but something about the story and atmosphere makes it GOAT.

Lttp hasnt aged that well to me. Gameplay wise theres npt much to it, and its not that immersive compared to 3d zeldas, or even Chrono Trigger/FF6

Yup. OOT always felt good as new no matter when I played it.

it's quite easily one of the best aged games of that time. I just love almost everything about that game.

Nah I feel you, DKC2 is piff, easily the best of the trilogy and one of the GOAT 2D platformers. Some other gems I didn't mention in my original post that you quoted: Yoshi's Island, Castlevania IV, Street Fighter II Turbo, Zombies Ate My Neighbors, Secret Of Mana, Final Fantasy VI, Super Mario Kart, NBA Jam, and Earthbound.

The SNES is hands-down the GOAT Nintendo console IMO.

Man I wish we could get a remastered OOT, the game is still as good as it was when I was younger just wish the graphics were upgraded.
