Nah, what's 500 million to Facebook? I know it sound like a shyt ton of money, but Facebook has a shyt TON of money. It's a setback, but not critical. The Rift will continue on.
Well the problem is that Oculus is just a division of the company.
Facebook is a public company. Share holders aren't going to be happy about a division hemorrhaging money.
Of course this all speculation because we really have no idea what exactly their long term vision is.
As far as the games thing while Oculus doesn't make games themselves they do seem to be throwing money around at devs.
Ultimately this could just be a bump in the road but the future is uncertain
