NopeSeen this shyt go down a few times. A woman doesn't even have to say she was raped, just allude to it
and claim she was in an altered state, then say "She doesn't wanna talk about it." It is literally in the top 3 scariest things someone
can say about you, as the stigma sticks. Woman lied? Oh, great, a few people will know. What will more people know?
You got hemmed up on rape charges. Say goodbye to your job, most of your friends, and in some cases, your own kids.

Nope, women are sexually abused all the time, something like 1/5(possibly more) have been sexually abused, and often you wouldn't know
without them telling you. The find a way to cope. A man falsely accused will ALWAYS have that tied to him unless it is nipped in the bud
from the jump. Give people a few weeks to run with a rape accusation and your reputation is fukking finished, and you will have it affect you
in the least expected ways for years to come.

No, being falsely accused isn't nearly as bad as being raped. That shyt is deplorable. However, being raped and having people know
causes them to pause and take your feelings into consideration, and even want to help you to not feel scared because of some demon
who came after you once or over a prolonged period of time. Anyone who gets that scarlet letter, R for rapist, will have EVERYONE
prejudge them if they even got a whiff of the accusations. Doesn't matter how much time passed. You are marked.

Like others have said, on anything I try to hear the facts before I jump to any conclusions.

It's a little disheartening that a black woman would write an article like this though. How many of our people have done unnecessary jail time and have had their reputations tarnished because a woman "claimed" rape .

You really don't hear a lot of these type of stories break out about white players (sans the Duke Lacrosse one), but I assure you that the same sexual acts going on and the coercion leading up to the acts that incurred the "rape claim" are being used on both sides of the coin. But 9/10 we're the only ones that get reported to the police

Refusing to believe a rape claim until that claim is proven is the basis of "innocent before proven guilty", and entirely valid as such. The "innocent before proven guilty" maxim is the foundation of fairness and equality principles which benefit and uplift a just society. By default a woman's life is no more important than a man's, and both should be treated with the same reverence until found guilty. Personal weakness on the part of the female gender has no bearing on anything.

You're right about the bolded. Except this ain't a world of "should"s, and as such it's important to understand that historically women had to go above and beyond to actually manage to prove they were raped (including having the money to do so) and now we're trying to swing the pendulum the opposite way so that a middle can be finally reached.

So to me at least, automatically believing a rape claim is okay as long as it helps LE not sweep it under the rug for being "too hard to prove" and not worth their time. In this day and age too many people refuse to understand rape, so maybe fear of being labeled "rapists" will make men try to educate themselves a little harder. It's incentive until we can reach a point in the future where society can finally be like "okay we've taken this too far, let's find a medium".
