He's not going anywhere. He makes close to 600k a year in the WWE. He wouldnt even be able to command 1/3rd of that working elsewhere. He's not giving up that kind of salary because he's a mark for a "push", unless he's some kind of blithering idiot.

Exactly my point...its senseless

Like I said, people in Hollywood do this all the time.

Plenty of people have given up steady sitcom/movie money to work on a pet project.

It's called having "artistic integrity".

Everybody's not just about money. Some people actually want to love what they're doing

Hopefully he has been wise with his money to afford going the indy route or to TNA. On both circuits he'd have more time for his comedy shows and whatever outside ventures he has to bring in extra money.

AJ Styles makes close to that between New Japan, ROH and indys. Dolph Ziggler is coming off 10 years of WWE TV, I'm sure he can get well into the 6 figures at least his first couple of years off WWE TV while working a fraction of the schedule

the low end. southside chi
ITS NOT
fukkING
REAL

Why does he care about getting such a good push? Why the fukk would he take less money to go to another fed and be pushed hard for a while and end up back in the midcard cycle? Is he this stupid? Why are some wrestlers like that?

"Make my charactor more important on this TV show or I'll go to another TV show?" It defys logic
because thats the point................

lol

too many of my tsc brehs treating it like his alternative is TNA

going to TNA is the dumbest move he could make in a world where ROH, Japan and Lucha Underground exist

Don't forget about merch(proweestling tees), shoot interviews, and the wrestling conventions. Wrestlers fresh off of WWE TV can make a nice living for at least 2-3 years post WWE with a lighter schedule. its just you gotta have the heart to hustle your bookings.

What do you mean by "AJ Styles makes close to that..." I would need to see the receipts that show that AJ is pulling down anything close to 600k working japan, the indies and ring of honor.

And actually my initial salary quote was wrong. The 600k quote for Dolph was the downside guarantee. He actually makes about 1 million dollars a year:

Indy wrestlers are not making anything close to what a low card WWE performer is making, let alone a mid-card or upper card WWE wrestler. Why do you think so many wrestlers are dying to get to the E, and are willing to go from main guys on the indies and sign developmental deals that pay jack just for the chance to make it to the main roster if an independent schedule is so profitable? A guy like Dolph is not walking away from a dream job unless he's lost his mind.

Having as much WWE TV time as he has had is powerful. You don't think Del Rio and Rey are cleaning up in Mexico? While working when they want. Those Indy guys are dying to get to the wwe roster and become millionaires. When you are a millionaire and have the tv time behind you, you can call shots. Dolph can take a year and see what's there in comedy/acting and still be fresh enough to call his shots as a wrestling FA, and Vince would probably want him back with a raise out of respect for quitting.

Daniel Bryan would easily make over a million if he quit, he's God to the japan/ROH/indys fanbase, that's why he stayed at the top of the card . Point being, the money is there. Maybe not for guys like Justin Gabriel or Curt Hawkins but for guys on tv every single week for years and years? Yes

Weren't you crtizing Vince Russo making the exact same point about the state of who holds the titles? :sas2:
Within the universe of wrestling you must act as if it is real...that you are a professional wrestler and the champion is the best. Russo doesn't respect or understand that dynamic.

I'm talking about ZIGGLER THE MAN caring about being the fictional champion when only the money and miles are real...in real life

Champions wrestle in main events in 99% of shows. Main eventers get paid the most. How much does Cena make?

Punk left wrestling all together tho. He left because injuries were catching up to him, and he developed a huge grudge with Vince McMahon, and the business in general. Its not like he left WWE because of a "push", just to go back to ring of honor and make a few hundred bucks a show and be world champ again. He seems like he wants to move on with his life completely away from wrestling. He doesnt even like talking about wrestling.
Exactly. Plus, Punk already had money saved and stored, too.
