Is it me or have the Pelicans really mismanaged Zion since drafting him? He should have never played preseason. Seems like they are way behind with Zion's debut and it shouldn't have gotten to this point. Who knows if they addressed it right after the draft and it just didnt work out the way they thought, but just now coming out and saying this leads me to believe they didnt at least take it more seriously. Coach K said Zion gained weight after Duke because they had him doing all that traveling and press related bullshyt. They really need to be more vigilant handling this kids career. Could fukk around and turn into an Embiid situation, where it takes several years to even get him on the court ok n a consistent basis.

You must not have seen him in preseason. If he's healthy, he's easily a franchise player and then some. Dude made Rudy Gobert the defending dpoy look like a straight chump on multiple plays. And it's not like he's just some athletic bully, he's got some of the greatest touch near the basket I've seen from anyone his age.

It's no excuse for him to be overweight honestly. Both he and the organization need to be accountable for that. The main doubt people have about this guy is his weight, all these stories about Zion being a hard worker you'd think he'd take it personal and do what's needed.
