But like the other poster said, every deed isn't a headline. There are some white players helping. But I'm not gonna crucify anyone who is being generous.

Plus you're assuming. You have no clue what the organization is doing for the employees behind the scenes.
Not a cent should come out of his pocket to cover their lost salary.

Smoothie King Center is owned by the State of Louisiana. To me that even worse.

How can yall hate on this? Crab in the buckets I tell ya. Yea ownership should do it, but they're slacking and time is of the essence.

It's not crabs in a bucket. This is the capitalist Trick Bag.

This man is an employee himself. Why should he have to cover the salaries of others when his team owners, who rake in hundreds of millions off young athletes like him, are let off the hook?

Similar to praising billionaires for their philanthropy insteading of changing the system that allows massive inequality to exist in the first place.

Jemelle Hill made a similar comment about Kevin Love doing a similar act.

Yall got to look at the bigger picture. No one is hating on the players.

nikka fukk all that. I'm not for players whoever the fukk they are fronting the bill with the owners of the fukking organization. Zion has no responsibility to pay for the workers of the organization. There should have been some type of disaster fund that takes care of the workers of the Pelicans. I'm sick of these billionaires walking away free while making people with less money front the bill. shyt's disgusting.

Not every good deed is a headline. Just how it is these days

either way, the players shouldn't be doing shyt at all - this is on ownership to pay their employees
(:mjpls: included)

The wolves for example? those motherfukkers said that since the arena is owned by the city (which is a joke in itself) - the city should foot the bill

"Absolutely, We are working on it." :troll:
You know damn well know this cac wasn't about to do shyt, until he got called out. :russ:

Breh. It's not about responsibility. Sometimes people just do kind things from the heart just because.

Plus you're assuming. You have no clue what the organization is doing for the employees.

I can't believe we actually have people actually upset because someone did a kind gesture for the less fortunate.

Agree to disagree breh.
Exactly

? breh its my area how you gonna tell me what is or isn't going on :dead: its okay if you're not right on the internet 100% of the time
What I loved most about the tweet is, he indirectly says he don't want to pay, but will if forced to.

"We’re going to make sure that they’re taken care of! Even if I have to pay out of pocket to help out."

Why do you think the entire summary of events is just that tweet? This entire situation has been an ongoing conversation for many franchises before the shutdown even occurred - that's what the guy is referring to when he @'s him.

I just threw something out there to note that plenty of guys don't hinge their charity or goodwill on public acknowledgement and visibility. Zion isn't the first player to help out staff in need due to circumstances and he definitely won't be the last. Its also not rare and often its guys who don't meet the image either.

However, billionaires happily letting people who make less than them take on all the heavy lifting is plainly bullshyt. So if you need to direct energy at a group, aim it there :manny:

@R.E.N. Spells Ren exaxctly. Brehs here are so short sighted. They’re mad at an employee footing the bill instead of the owners when they’re not looking at it long term. Whether it’s for cynical reasons or purely benevolent ones, this small gesture will be remembered for a long time and will pay back Zion ten fold.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for calling out the owners, but chastising a player who chooses to this just because the owners should be doing it is crab shyt.
