Don't matter when Mason got in the league he was a good player. Zion is a good player, he has a good upside, should surpass Mason. A much more athletic Mason is a great player easily a multiple time All-Star not sure why you take it as a slight.

He's more of a super glue guy than an MVP level player to me. That whole jumpshot needs to be reconstructed, he doesn't have ideal length, he needs to lose weight to improve his lateral quickness and foot speed to switch onto guards. His roles will be that of a finisher, secondary playmaker, high level rebounder, and defender who can switch everything.
I don't see the comparison. Not at all. Are there elements that you could compare, of course but the same could be said for Diaw, Barkley, Rogers, LJ, Bennett, Draymond, LeBron, and Josh Smith. So when I think of comparison. Who is he most like that we seen in the past. We could be wrong. I said Olidipo was the next Wade. I was wrong. Now Vic has been great in his own right but he is not Wade.

Just be more realistic than saying Mason with a 43 inch vertical. That sounds retarded. Especially for those of us who been a lot of games and seen Mason a number of times.

Outside of LeBron, no one has been a superstar at 20 years old. Everyone has a lot to work on in their game at that age.

Not at all you taking the comparison to heart. He's not literally Mason. Zion can be compared to all those players you listed, those are his play style archetypes. Like scouts say "shades of" he has shades of all those players. But Zion isn't Mason, he's Zion. Oladipo isn't Wade, he's Oladipo. Donovan Mitchell isn't Wade, he's Donovan Mitchell. LeBron James isn't Magic Johnson, he's LeBron James. Embiid isn't Hakeem, he's Embiid. Players make their own name and all have their own unique qualities. These are just comparisons. To me Mason is the closest comparison due to skillset and measurables, he's a vastly more athletic Mason, on the court he's going to function in similar roles.

You apparently think he's better than Charles Barkley and a future MVP level player I don't agree with that. Freak All-Time athlete with some nice ball handling and playmaking skills at his size but some serious limitations that could hinder him on both ends. Not a guy I see as a number one option.

dude is going to be scary in the open court grabbing a board and going coast to coast. and him being unselfish and a very good passer is what impresses me most about him.

He can probably dominate D1 without a jumpshot like Ben Simmons did. I really don't think his jumpshot will be showcased at Duke

He is crazy athletic and has a good handle especially in the open court but at 6'6-6'7 with short arms and average lateral speed/perimeter defense and a weak jumper I just dont know where he would fit. If he can improve his playmaking I guess he could be a slashing point forward, maybe?

He was dominating nikkas throughout the AAU circuit :francis:

yall corny

Another person trying to front like they watch basketball and you can tell from the comment. He ain't watched Zion nor hoops at all.

Only negativity for Zion is he went to duke and should have put another school in the map. Along with making his way devoid of the bullshyt.
By making his choice and going to duke.
Zion, is literally putting himself through will he bust type bullshyt discussions easy.
Past duke's horrific track record with recruits outside of the success of:

Maggs
Hill
Kyrie: A misnomer he was not there long enough to get the duke funk
Brand
Tatum
Maybe boozer

Zion, picked a school known for making the bust funk.
Past that tho,...zion is the next ten talent potentially. We literally are watching the what if of lebron meets len bias on super saiyan sensu beans.

Kid is unreal.
Completely unreal.
Still fearful but can't wait.

Y’all need to stop hyping this man. He gonna flame out. Too big and no jumper. Y’all setting yourselves up for disappointment.

if he can have a zack randolph type of career that will be good...

dunking all over the place is good, but he better sharpen his game by his 3rd year in the league or he'll be next to okafor at disneyland issuing merry go round tickets

If you're in Canada or if you have an IPTV service, Zion (along with RJ and Cam Reddish) plays tonight vs Ryerson at 7 pm EST on TSN5.

:what:Where did all of this "Zion can't shoot" narrative come from? The games Ive seen him play, he was hitting a consistent jump shot from all over the court

I'd like to see him hit an open jumpshot. Zone gonna lock him down both times they play this season.
