1. idk why Herculez Gomez asked him such a stupid starstruck type of question and 2. Zlatan's response made no sense, they're not asking who has had the better career. By his logic, if old man Maradona signed with some team tomorrow, he would be the best player in the league because of the things he did years ago. :wtb:

He's not saying he had a better career. He's saying that no one playing his prime in the MLS could ever be as good as him, no matter how old he gets. It's not supposed to "make sense" or be rationalized out to that degree, it's trash talk, man. :gucci:

He been this way his whole life, it's savage but it's also funny as hell. There's a video where he destroys a reporter's entire life and career straight off the cuff right in the middle of a press pool.

edit: here's what I was thinking of:

No doubt he's always said whatever comes to mind straight off the dome since day one. I don't question that is just that it sucks that the league ended up in the cross-hairs of Ibra being Ibra.

Go ahead and talk shyt but he shouldn't shyt on the league like that

The breh shytted on a whole country, what makes you think he wouldn't shyt on the MLS?

Also, to the other guy mentioning Vela in Europe, well he played in Europe (Arsenal)... he didnt do shyt. Zlatan is right he is BYE FAR better, not the same galaxy.

No lies told Carlos Vela used to play for Arsenal and a few mid table clubs in Spain (I believe Espanyol or Villareal). I don't watch MLS but given that he is dominating he reminds me f a baseball player that is tearing up AAA ball but can't really cut it at the Major Leagues. He is too good for the MLS but is not good enough to be a consistent good player in the top leagues in Europe (i.e Spain or England)

Trash talk on that level should make some kind of sense. Otherwise you agree with me that signing right now, Maradona would be the best player in the league in 2019.

FC Barcelona chasing Carlos Vela? All the latest developments

Barcelona almost made a play for him, so I'm pretty sure the man could be playing somewhere in Europe. The man is just a weirdo who marches to his own drum as evidenced by all the Mexican NT calllups he denied for years before coming back again.

Zlatan legit one of the best players of the last two decades, easily top 10.

Vela is a good player too and could be playing in all of the top leagues in Europe but it seems like he enjoys dominating MLS and living in LA. Nothing wrong with that but really silly to compare him to one of soccer's GOATs, even if he is past it.

Based on accolades, sheer consistency and longevity, He's top 5 player of the last two decade
11 league titles spread accross top leagues in europe
13x footballer of the year in europe's top flight league
5x golden boot winner in europe's top flight
He's been in conversation for the best striker in the world since 2006 up until 2013
I won't get into his other accomplishments, those are the main ones

The only players with better individual and team achievement and longevity (arguable) than him over the last 20 years are
Messi
C.Ronaldo
Zidane
Xavi

Ronaldinho, henry,Iniesta were better players individually but couldn't match Zlatan's longevity in Ronaldinho's case or his team accomplishement in Henry's case nor his individual accolades in Iniesta's case

I do phuck with Ibra, domestic level a killer, but breh was a coward in the CL. Cannot be top 5 of 2 decades with sub-par performances at the highest level. :francis:
