Zone of the Enders 2 on PC and FPS Mech games

I just bought ZoE 2 on Steam. It is a beautiful sight to behold. Unfortunately the FPS view can only be done with a VR helmet. Just finished saving Taper. And it is the most annoying thing I remember in recent game history.

But also does anyone have any suggestions on a FPS Mech game? I was looking for a game like Gundam 0079 Side Story (old Dreamcast game). But still haven't seen any game like it yet.

I guess *The* FPS mech game would be the Mechwarrior series

But I'll be honest, its an overall bad genre. ZoE is one of the rare games of that type that accepts that a mech can actually be fast as fukk and do it in 3 dimensions.

There are some other games like Armored Core - but each title is hit or miss. Virtual On is decent as well.

But again, FPS? The ZoE2/VR thing is a big deal and outlier for a reason.
