This is the risk you take when trying to do something constructive amongst other people who aren't, I had a similar situation this weekend where I was the photographer at an all Black event and many people there taking intoxicants, things could have gone very bad in spite of me being there to do something constructive.

Minimizing contact only minimizes the chances of conflict, it doesn't completely eliminate them.

See...how can you say with such certainty that what you were doing there was "something constructive", and
what other people were doing wasn't?
