that area use to be the hood like not even 10 years ago. it was never as bad as englewood or out west but it was still a gang infested neighborhood.Its interesting how quickly Latino hoods get gentrified
but it seems like it takes a bit longer in black neighborhoods, unless they completely raze the area and kick people out like with cabrini green and the other projects

Chicago is NOT a third world country. There are a lot of areas and hoods where regular black folks work and chill and raise kids quietly.

It's too culturally acceptable here to just be an unemployed street nicca, parents won't push their kids, females will still date and have children with them, knowing how the story will end, and no expectation for anything different.
I lived 30 years of my life in the 100's in Roseland, grew up there, and eventually bought my own home in another part of the same hood. Went to a high school that was so bad they decided to wipe the slate, closed it and re opened it as a whole different school with different administration and teachers after i left.
I am a father of 4 black children still living on the south side..
80% of these murders are black on black crime. Lil Niccas killing each other over Facebook twitter and Youtube disses.
It's all about p*ssy and pride, these lil bums aren't even fighting over money or power, which is why the cops are clueless how to stop it because it's the definition of "senseless". There's not grand conspiracy or militias, it's nikka shyt, plain and simple, and it's snowballing out of control.
My best friend is a social worker, and every day she see's the BS, NO ONE is taking care of these kids.
Mama had em young and still trying to live her life, daddy was never around.

pilsen is already expensive if you're east of ashland. cuz now you're getting into the university village and UIC area. if you're west of ashland, its affordable. but it be fukkery happening out there as well. I think mckinley park might be a better option than pilsen. it's a little further south, but it has orange line access, access to I55 and more stores than you have around pilsen. also it's cheaper.
funny thing about the east humboldt park are is developers are trying to sell that area as "west wicker" or "west bucktown" for these yuppies.
I was reading a book about the Black P. Stones and they said the residents in these same areas were calling for the National Guard back in the 60s
