We talk about Marriage and if it’s worth it for men to get married in 2021, The biggest benefit I can see for getting married are the tax benefits.

You could be losing over 10k a year income just for being single I call it the singles tax.

So do you think getting married is worth the risk to earn potentially 10k a year more than you do? :jbhmm:

Nope.

Say you are "losing 10k"... You gotra look at it as you are actually gaining 5k at best if you are married cause it's 10k for the couple. But chances are you are spending the majority of the 10k on her anyway.

Just had our second child and filed taxes. I’m the only one working right now, I brought home $78k pre tax, paid $8k in fed withholdings, we are getting just shy of $13k back :dead:

I took a second wfh job and if I finish the year with both I’ll finish at $134ish pre tax, my bracket doesn’t change because we are married, we get to keep all of the upcoming stimulus money, qualify for the $6k they are about to hand us for child credits ($700 monthly) and I withhold at the higher single payer rate. All that said we should see over $20k in a return next season :deadrose:

10K A YEAR IN SAVINGS VS. POTENTIAL ALIMONY AND SPLITTING THE ASSETS.

THAT ASSUMES THAT SHE DOESN'T CONTRIBUTE FINANCIALLY.
