As great as he was, Michael Jackson is sometimes overrated on here as a vocalist

You got Ralph tresvant, lloyld, neyo, Bruno mars, the weekend all tryna sound like him.

You have some of the most well known people in the industry talking about how great he was vocally.

Mike have several songs that display his vocal ability.

Some people get vocal tone & actual vocal ability confused.

You're vocal tone doesn't have to sound like a Johnny gill or Luther vandross to be considered a great singer.

Also powerhouse voice doesn't equal great singing.

You gotta link to this article OP?

Also Mike's vocal control in the high ranges he decided to keep his voice in was epic. His ability to stay in his upper range while flowing smoothly note to note is virtually unmatched.

It's a reason why folks don't cover his songs. They can't sing them note for note with the same control.

I think, like Bey, Mike often gets underrated as a vocalist because of the type of music he made. This Mike vs Luther thing is just like the Bey vs Whitney argument. Mike and Luther had two different styles but both could sing.
