Religion is a huge link to Africa. You wouldn't understand since you are not a black American/Caribbean but most black churches/nations
s form of worship is heavily influenced by Africa. So yes, things like Hoodoo, Vodun, Santeria, Palo ARE holding on to African culture but you wouldn't know that since you're not an Afro-descendant

. Cuba/PR/DR have huge AFrican influences (just like all of the Caribbean and yes even the United States). firstly, the music, dance and religion is very much African influenced. Many people from the Spanish Caribbean pride themselves as being the product of Natives, Spanish, AND African. to insinuate that Cuba/PR/DR haven't held on to African culture is insulting. in the US, Afro-descendants as a whole have not held on many African traditions (due to the size of non African population here).
