Baltimore City is on pace to break a nine-year-long streak. According to the Baltimore City Police Department, there have been 256 homicides in 2023 compared to 320 this time last year. It's the first time in nine years the city is on track to have less than 300 homicides. "For the first year in nine years, the homicide and the non-fatal shooting rate in the state of Maryland is beginning to break," Gov. Wes Moore said
