No we didn't. Those policies are great but will NOT close the Racial Wealth Gap.

UNIVERSAL policies will not close the racial wealth gap. ADOS will still be in the same wealth position in relation to white and immigrant America.

But who would be more sympathetc to addressing issues that specifically effect ADOS?
1. A far right demogogue
2. A corporate centrist
3. Or a progressive democratic socialist

Furthermore, in what type of environment would reparations for ADOS be more receptive?

1. A far right Christian country with fascistic elements
2. A Center Right country where wealth inequality persists. Corporate hegemony still reigns supreme and the elites give out menial handouts to pacify the populace
3. A left leaning country where corporate elites are held accountable, there is free healthcare, college, and a livable wage etc..

We failed to look at it from the long game. Society evolves in increments. The easier peoples lives become the less divisive people become and more receptive they are to progressive ideas.

I don't get this line of thought. Okay, that doesn't specifically address the racial wealth gap, so lets defect to a party or politician that continues to enact policy that perpetuate the status quo - wealth accumulation in the hands of a wealthy few.

Political apathy? Withholding votes? That just reinforces the same trajectory.

When you have a person willing to address how big business control politics you start to get to the root of the problem. Bernie was willing to question the system.

America will never give the people free healthcare, America needs people to integrate and work, giving you too much is a pipes dream that will never happen. Look at the 600 a week and watch how next year people start flipping out over taxes.

Bernie talks a good talk but not realistic at all, won't ever happen.

It won't happen because most of the general populace is too stupid and conditioned to cheerlead for the corporate elites.

Most Americans support medicare for all. It's not that the majority of Americans don't want sensible policy but government can't escape the grip of corporate interest.

Bernie would have been the easiest president to bring the topic of reparations to the table.

Just because he didn't talk about it during his campaign (that would have been a political suicide to the rest of his non-black base) doesnt mean he wouldn't during his presidency.

Because the things he talks about would help black people a ton. But I know many people were mad that he didnt have something super special for black people so they voted Biden.

Now we can get special crumbs from Biden instead of the full meals everyone could've had with Bernie:francis:

Out of curiosity, what made those of you such as @HarlemHottie
:troll:
and others alike support Bernie Sanders in 2016 or 2020 despite there being no specific black agenda offered by him? :jbhmm:

I watched in real time as Obama threw away his vaunted coalition before his first midterm (which is why dems lost so much, stop blaming it on feckless voters), by letting his surrogates shyt on the progressive wing of the party. By 12, i was disillusioned with Obama's brand of progressivism but I voted AGAINST ROMNEY in 12 bc bane capital really is as predatory as they claimed.

By 2016, i was done with all manner of blue dogs and moderates. I supported bernie in 2016 bc he was obviously a better candidate than Hillary, and obviously less beholden to corporate interests (such as Marc Rich, founder of glencore, a notorious mining company fukking ppl up in Africa to this very day. I posted the deets in that thread about the Congo).

(Didn't vote in 16 bc my mil was literally dying. We were at the hospital when the race was called.)

Now, tho, my people are organizing on our own behalf. That changes everything. On the single issue most important to my community, he gave us his ass to kiss. That has consequences. Bernie proved himself as much of an anti- ados racist as trump, Biden, Obama, and all the rest, so fukk him too. :ld:

Can you explain the how this didnt work but the US basically gave that to other countries with the Marshall plan and we give money to Israel so they could do that kind of stuff for their citizens?

You’re making absolutely no sense

You can't fix a specific problem (the black white wealth Gap) with Universal programs that uplift everyone. The people with the accrued disadvantages (ADOS) will still be at a deficit.

Classed based solutions don't fix the problems caused by RACE and RACISM.
