2-sided coin.

American politicians are right that the Chinese would collect all sorts of data.

Flip side is they let Google, probably Tesla and whoever else collect data on their own citizens in America.

The fear of China is legit but the REAL reason is protecting Musky Bigot from competition. America is all about free enterprise with regards to labor and regular folks but wants socialism for the wealthy and big corporate interests.

those cars are made by Muslim slave labor

if you are against slavery
if you are against the genocide of Muslims

you should be against Chinese manufacturing and particularly these electric vehicles

Seeing "Made In China" on the back of your can opener is one thing, but I'll be damned if i ride the family around in a Mach-E by Bruce Lee
I would not even want the can opener that is made in China. That shyt is going to be janky too.

depends on who you ask actually

since the slaves are not freely engaging in the market then the market isn't free
Lol how can they not be engaged when the product of their labor is part of the market?

No really, what are you talking about? A free market has little to no government involvement. The fact that politicians want the government to step in literally contradicts the system.

Slave labour has always been integral to the free market precisely because of a lack of government intervention. If a firm can produce goods with little to zero fixed and average variable costs, they are gucci; slave labor is like cocaine for that pursuit

I mean, what do you think built America? Magic and bootstraps?

The idea is that the slaves are not free to engage in the market as they want to. They are engaged in it but not freely because they are not free. Thats why some people would say slavery is not a free market.

Wage slavery is free market. Implied slavery where you have a choice to starve to death or take the job is free market. But true forced labor like in China is not free market.

Its semantics but thats the point.

For what it's worth I agree that the free market can not succeed without exploitation. Idiots like Friedman conveniently ignore this fact.
