@Poitier don't worry those skin bleaching surveys are VERY VERY VERY skewed to fit agenda. As someone who has lived in Africa I can tell you the c00ning is NOTHING like in the UK and USA. In Africa people use stuff like shea butter and cocoa butter which as you know deepens tans so people tend to have very RICH, DEEP black skin which glows. You can tell a bleacher from afar, because most people in West Africa have amazing skin, the bleachers are a small epidemic.
I remember when I first came from Ghana and learned the real concept of light skin vs dark skin and dark skin being inferior living in Africa people might tease people a lil and call em yellow paw paw or 'blackie chan' but I had NO insecurities about my skin colour or race AT ALL. In Africa it didn't click to me that I was inferior in the West for being black and having a deeper skin tone.
So imagine my horror when I came back to London where people were praising biracials/light skin/whites and all of a sudden all I knew was gone.
That shyt fukked me up so bad at first. Black people in the Wests c00ning is ridiculous.
Ask ANYONE who has actually LIVED in Africa not watched it on TV the culture shock of coming to the West. In Africa it was so family like man, such strong bonds. The black people here it was like they hated each other. People cussing each other out, dissing each other skin color, the sheer self hate.
In Africa we had NOOO insecurity about our appearance. My fiance schooled in Nigeria and said the same. She had LONG natural hair, rich brown skin and had NO physical insecurities. Her insecurities began when she stepped off that plane from Lagos and met normal black people in the West.
My gf experienced even BIGGER insecurities when she went to do some summer thing at Columbia and the amount of African Americans making random comments about her. My fiance is of medium carmely complexion and by the end of the summer her classmates were on some 'damnnnnn u got dark as helll' you've seen my fiance, she was like wtf.
Or people telling her shyt like 'nawwww u ain't African u blasian!!! u got chinky eyes!!! u too pretty to be African'
She wanted to go school there but was like
her words were 'America was the place I most felt black and it was mainly by other blacks'
nikkas even commented on her nose shape.
I honestly can't wait till u start going to Africa and hopefully live there @Poitier it's not till you live in Africa you will realize just how effed up Western Blacks are.
In Africa the biggest fight is wealth inequality and classism and REAL issues but all this c00n shyt we deal with ?! They don't have time for it.
