Did Robert Pattinson learn nothing from John Mayer? The Twilight actor sat down with Details magazine and threw around a racially charged joke like it was nothing. Keep in mind the interviewer, Jenny Lumet, is a Black journalist (and Lena Horne’s granddaughter no less), that said, here’s the dialogue she had with Pattinson:

Details: Rob, did you know that every time you say actor or acting you lower your voice to a whisper?

Rob: (He’s genuinely startled.) “I do?”

Details: Yes, so quietly it’s like you’re saying Negro.

Rob: (He laughs, lightens up.) “What if we were ‘acting’ like ‘Negroes’? Then we’d be f*cked—we couldn’t hear anything. . . .”

Now I’m not sure what even prompted Lumet to lead Pattinson down the racial path by making the Negro comparison in the first place (clearly she has her own race issues) or why Details even felt the need to run this part of the interview that had nothing to do with anything (Pattingson had already said he’s “allergic to vagina” in the article, wasn’t that shock value enough?) but it bothers me. What’s up with these young entertainers, who probably have plenty of Black fans, thinking it’s cool to make these off putting jokes these days!?

So much for a little respect during the very few days of Black History Month.

I can't speak for the entire thread but I'm not supporting her being racially humiliated nor is this woman black. She's biracial and I'm just being honest; I know for a fact if someone like Blake Griffin started dating some famous white woman and he got racial slurs hurled at him I wouldn't care either way. I mean I'm not supporting what these people are saying but I'm not going out of my way to do anything about it either, biracials can stick up for other biracials when in situations like this. Especially considering the fact that she's with someone whose been know to throw out racial slurs himself.
