It's no secret that America has a startling issue when it comes to mass incarceration. According to research published by the International Centre for Prison Studies, the number of people incarcerated in America increased from 500,000 to over 2.2 million between 1980 and 2015. Today, the United States makes up about 5% of the world’s population and holds a staggering 21% of the world’s prisoners.

While people of color make up about 30 percent of the United States’ population, they account for 60 percent of those imprisoned. 1 in every 15 African American men is currently incarcerated in comparison to 1 in every 106 white men.

To help visualize this data, understand India is a country of 1.2 Billion people with a total of only around 380,000 prisoners. There are more African American men incarcerated in the U.S. than the total prison populations in India, Argentina, Canada, Lebanon, Japan, Germany, Finland, Israel and England, combined.

See how this thread only got one comment? :jbhmm: c00n ass nikkas talking bout black empowerment, "fighting the system" but this app let you bail out black people and yet there's no interest in here :beli: am I surprised? fukk no...nikkas been known to talk the talk and not walk the walk :skip:
Threads like this show cats true colors. A lot of nikkas just like being on the woke trend than log onto social media and make a few woke post and bicker back and forth over petty shyt on the internet. Someone should start cataloging all these threads that flop so next time one of these nikkas complain about shyt we can show the threads they choose to ignore.

That's money funding courts, that incentivizes hyper arrest/incarceration.

Black bodies are commodtized on the municipal level. All those bullshyt drug cases that nikkas bail out on and spend money on feed cities. That goes for tickets and other fines aswell. (We're essentially used as tax revenue cows in the courts)

You really can get pulled over for driving while black, federal statistics show

This is alot like when abolitionists used to buy slaves to set them free and realized that they were inversely feeding the slave trade. It doesn't make economic sense to bail every Black man out that's accused of a crime. That money could be better spent funding Black political entities that fight to repeal predatory drug laws in cities like Atlanta and New York. Merely bailing nikkas out doesn't address the larger problem.

Just because someone doesn't agree with someone prima facie doesn't mean they aren't pro-black. Nor does a thread getting [x] amount of replies mean that it's more interesting.

It’s a no from me. If you got locked up, you probably deserved it :yeshrug:
Yeah it's a no for me too. I can't send money to people pumping poison in the community or doing assorted dumb shyt.

Now an app that funds political campaigns to work on lower sentencing could work. But no to giving money to a criminal.

Do you feel that the majority of Black men in jail deserve to be there?

And I don't mean "i was tryna support my kids so I.." shyt, either.

I mean literally, do you think that the majority of Black men in jail are there because of crimes they committed and are justly imprisoned? (that is, parity with whites with regard to jail sentences). There aren't millions (over the years) of Black men -in your opinion- that are in jail for crimes they DIDN'T commit?

In any case that's incorrect.

That's how most of these c00ns think and they wonder why there's no "community".

So Kalief Browder was pumping poison and deserved to get locked up? You guys coming with that heavy handed where the :yeshrug::yeshrug: good must suffer for the bad. Of course there are black men sitting in jail who need to be there, but there are also people who can't minimum bail conditions for minor offenses, trumped up charges, lies etc.

The system is designed to trap black men from whichever angle you look at it (poverty, police, prison), this is a way to help not the murderer scum, but the others who languishing waiting for their day in court (who could be possible innocent)
