This is actually cool. I'd need a very clear understanding of exactly how much of the funds actually go to towards the bail amount and how much goes to the "upkeep of the app".

The impact of bail is so underestimated. Yes, people fukk up...even good people (think Lavar Ball's son) and they can miss tests, job interviews, job assignments, etc as a result of being in jail awaiting trial.

Bail is ONLY about making sure people come to court for their next Cort date.

Either article or the creators doesn't narrow the type of Black inmate that will benefit from it, which is a problem

Yeah it's a no for me too. I can't send money to people pumping poison in the community or doing assorted dumb shyt.

Now an app that funds political campaigns to work on lower sentencing could work. But no to giving money to a criminal.

There are black scholarships to help pay for college students that go unfilled. I would know, considering I advertised a black scholarship here and the thread flopped and even IRL there weren't many applicants.

Black prisoners do not have these types of opportunities. They obviously receive less support but if you want to push a false narrative then ok
