Salute to them but we really gotta redefine our perceptions and expectations of "black excellence." It shouldn't be entering predominantly white spaces, but creating and advancing spaces of our own.
- TM Landry Prep, their black-owned school, is black excellence (amidst allegations, I know )
- Black startups are black excellence
- A group of doctors pooling their resources to start a clinic is black excellence
Black Excellence shouldn't be centered on kids... Kids need adults to aspire to, not other way around. It's great news, but a lot of shyt that's pushed out there like graduating school/college, etc. need to be reframed as what you're supposed to do.
